What is in the homewares range

Ceramic vases run from the Sienna Ceramic Vase in 11cm at $8.99 up to the White Genoa Composite Vase at 43cm x 60cm for $359.99. Real Touch Artificial Orchid Pots come in 50cm at $41.99 through to 72cm at $179.99, so you can fill a side table or a bare corner. For the walls there are 63x63cm paintings such as Born To Protea and Pear Pressure at $99.99, plus clocks like the Round Monaro Clock in 30cm at $23.99. Soft furnishings include the Grey Basic Cushion in 50cm x 50cm at $41.99 with a matching 30cm x 50cm lumbar cushion at $29.99, and the Grey & Green Dew Wool Blend Throw in 125cm x 150cm at $71.99. Scent is covered by the Mango & Papaya Soy Candle Jar in 300g at $25.99, the Wick2wear Lavender Spa Diffuser in 230ml at $24.99 and the Beach Boy Coconut & Lime Diffuser in 200ml or 400ml.

How to pull a room together

Start with one anchor piece, usually a painting, a large vase or a throw in the colour you want the room to lean towards, then pick two or three smaller items that repeat that colour. Group decor in odd numbers and vary the heights: a tall vase, a mid height figurine and a low bowl read better than three things the same size. Above a sofa, choose wall art roughly two thirds the width of the seat. On the sofa itself, two 50cm square cushions with a lumbar cushion in front give a finished look without crowding the seat. Keep fragrance to one scent family per room so a candle and a diffuser are not competing.

Homewares for gifts and small updates

Not every purchase needs to be a room makeover. Character candles such as Kerry The Koala and Leo The Lion, each 10cm x 12.5cm at $23.99, make an easy birthday gift, and the Standing Baby Elephant Figurine in 22cm at $14.99 or the Sentimental Dad Figurine in 20cm at $14.99 suit a shelf or bedside. Swapping cushion covers, a diffuser scent or one vase with the seasons keeps a room feeling fresh for very little outlay. If you burn candles, trim the wick before each use and never leave a lit candle unattended. For festive pieces, visit our Christmas shop.
